How to Solve the Firmware Failure Issue?-Force OTA Guide

⚠️Please do not perform OTA firmware updates without official instruction or authorization. CONTACT SUPPORT TEAM TO SEE IF OTA IS NEEDED OR NOT. 

 

Please note:

  • please ensure that the machine is securely connected to your laptop via USB. This connection is essential for the OTA process to proceed successfully.

Instructions:

Step 1. Download and install the Firmware OTA tool

For Windows:

Step 2. Go to the corresponding file, please extract it to access the last .exe/dmg file and open it.

Step 3. Click on “Get device information”, and wait until all the info as shown on the right box is uploaded successfully. 

Step 4. Download the customized .gz file provided by our tech support via email, and click on “Upload File” to upload it. 

*NOTE:

1. Because unauthorized upgrades without guidance may cause damage to the machine, we will not directly put the firmware file on this page for download. If you need to do a force OTA, please contact support to explain your question and request the firmware download link.

2. Each machine model corresponds to a different firmware file, so please make sure to use only the file specifically sent to you by support. For example, if you use a Vision firmware file to upgrade a Lumos machine, it will result in permanent damage to the Lumos machine.

Step 5. After it’s upgraded successfully uploaded, click on “launch an upgrade”.

Step 6. Click on confirm when you are asked if you want OTA upgrade.

Step 7. Wait until the process is completed, when you see the message shows update success, please turn off the machine, turn it back on.

Step 8. Open MakeIt software, go to settings, check if the firmware has been updated successfully.
