Lumos Slider Firmware Upgrade Guide

⚠️ Important: The firmware must be upgraded via USB only. Wi-Fi upgrades are strictly prohibited.

Before You Begin

  1. USB connects Lumos machine to your laptop.
  2. Ensure the slider is properly installed. Power on the laser.
  3. Ensure your current firmware version is up-to-date. Check the following:
    • MCU1: 000217
    • MCU2: 020031
    • Firmware: 1.2.2

If your firmware version is lower than the above, please go to Firmware > Check for Updates to proceed with the upgrade.

Upgrade Steps

Step 1: Download the Firmware OTA Tool

Step 2: Extract the Tool

  • After downloading, extract the compressed file.
  • Locate and open the final executable file:   exe for windows/  dmg for mac 

Step 3: Get Device Information

  • Click on “Get Device Information”.
  • Wait until all device information appears in the right-hand box.
  • This confirms a successful connection.

Step 4: Check Slider Version Info

  • After retrieving the device info, verify that the slider version data is properly loaded.
  • Make sure the data is not empty.
    If it is, reconnect the device and try again.

Step 5: Download the Firmware File

  • Click the provided link to download the slider firmware.
  • After downloading, unzip the file to obtain a .bin file.

Step 6: Upload the Firmware

  • In the OTA Tool, click “Choose File”.
  • Select the .bin file extracted in Step 4.

Step 7: Start the Upgrade

  • Click “Launch an Upgrade” to begin upgrading the slider firmware.

Step 8: Confirm Completion

  • Once the upgrade is complete, a message will appear: “Upgrade Complete”.
  • This indicates the firmware upgrade was successful.

If the Upgrade Fails

If you encounter an OTA error, please provide the following information and send it to support@wecreat.com for further assistance.

  1. Device information (as seen in Step 3)
  2. Slider firmware version(as seen in Step 4)
  3. The complete process or screenshot of the OTA launch attempt
